Sea Your Site From Our View
Look at your project like an island that will contain what you want to show your visitors. Then populate it with everything needed to make your messaging a breeze and the experience worth repeating. Whether your site is small or large, we will look at all kinds of technical & aesthetic elements to make sure the visitor knows they are in the right place and that it is easy to find what they are looking for. This could be a simple re-design of your current site, or a complete overhaul.
We are your tour guide to help identify the best way to welcome visitors to your destination. The digital environment will be created with space planning, platform, graphic & content development. As many as 80% of web site visitors across the Internet use their device. So we will guide you through a design that may incorporate mobile optimization.
We will then work with you to let visitors see examples of your services without wasting pixels on any device or computer. We bring our simple vision to video web production, web photography & web-based graphic design. All visual elements will be produced in one place which provides cohesive content to emphasize your message while keeping a clear picture of the overall project you have in mind.
Once visitors are on your island, welcome them into your hut. Is your hut clean, stocked with the right content for your visitor? Your web site is often your first, and perhaps only chance to market your company’s products and services to Internet customers. So make the most of this opportunity by ensuring your content is updated regularly, engages your target audience and is interesting enough to encourage people to return. Jettytrip media is here to help manage that content. We can change things from time to time for very little money, or manage the entire site with daily & weekly updates.
How much will it cost? The short answer: The final cost of building a site depends on so many factors, it’s impossible to sum up quickly, but all web sites we build will start around the $1500 - $5000 range. The long answer: Imagine telling someone you want to buy a car without giving the make, model and engine type you’re looking to purchase, but they still immediately give you a price for that car. The same goes for building web sites. Depending on the features you want, the cost varies from project to project. We need to get some information first before knowing a price. To get a better idea of the cost of what you want to build, email us. We’ll ask you a few questions about the nature of the site, what sort of interactivity the site will have, your graphic design needs, etc. Then we’ll be able to give you a ballpark figure. If you’re still interested, we’ll work with you to come up with a firm quote and time-line.How long will it take to complete my site?As with the cost, there is no one answer to this question. The development time depends on the complexity of the site that you need. For a basic small web site, it usually takes around 6-8 weeks. This includes the custom graphic design phase, assembly of needed content, and the construction of the site. After an initial consultation regarding your specific needs, we can give a more specific estimate of completion. What is "Responsive" design?Responsive design is a web site platform with built-in flexibility. It automatically resizes a viewing screen across a wide range of mobile devices, as well as traditional desktop computers. Problems with responsive design are related to frequency of content updates. Often times when you have a site that requires a lot of changes on a regular basis, it is easier to manage with separate platforms. It also depends on messaging that may differ quite significantly on mobile devices. It costs the same so we will help you figure out if you need responsive design or a separate mobile site. What is mobile friendly and do I need a separate mobile site?Mobile friendly means that your web site detects the screen size of the user and delivers the site’s content in an optimized way for that device or computer, responsive design does the same thing. Both have their uses, but which to use will depend on messaging that may differ on mobile devices. It costs the same so we will work to explain which one will work best for your company. Can I modify the site once it is done?Modification of the layout or overall design can be changed at any time, it just costs money to do every time you make a change. This is different than adding or changing content within the site. What do I do about a domain & hosting?Web hosting is the rental of Internet server space to house your web site. The hosting company will place your site on their server so that it is accessible to all those on the Internet. Costs run from $10 - $100 per month depending on needs. We can manage this for you, or we can show you how to do it yourself. All of our content management agreements offer this service at no cost to you. We use Bluehost exclusively. A domain is the address of a web site, e.g. www.yourcompany.com. We can manage this for you, or we can show you how to do it yourself. All of our content management agreements offer this service at no cost to you. What is the development process?1. We'll schedule a formal exploration meeting to scope out your project, discuss design direction, and clarify your goals & audience. After that meeting we'll provide a detailed proposal and project time-line, and hopefully get started shortly thereafter. 2. Next is the planning meeting, done in person so we can clearly communicate all plans from asset collection to actually going live. We dig into the nitty gritty, and start practical planning. Try to carve out a couple of hours at least for this. You should leave that meeting with a clearly defined list of initial homework and mission plans. 3. Give us your stuff. Creating, organizing, and collecting your site’s assets is a vital part of the process. Your assets consist of text, photos, videos, graphics, testimonials, charts, and graphs; anything that you want to present to the world on your website that delivers the information and experience you want your audience to have. This will also assist with a sitemap, content strategy, copy writing, asset organization and to help guide the organizational process as we move along into content input. We will also outline a basic design concept. 4. Now it’s time to design the entire site! We will take all the previous knowledge and get to work. The web site will meet WCAG 2.0 (Website Content Accessibility Guidelines) compliance set forth by WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative) as well as basic search engine optimization principles (SEO). After receiving 35% of the agreed upon cost, we will enter the stage of programming your site. 5. Now it’s on us. We will completely build your web site and implement all of its functionality. You will receive a private link during pre-defined stages to view the progress and watch as it all comes together, while providing feedback as a guide. 6. Once it is done we will review it together. We will check and re-check things a million times before we give it to the world to see. But normally by now we are all good with things and we are just checking for symmetry. 7. We publish the site and then the remainder of the balance would now be due. Who will manage my site once it is done? You have two options when it comes to updating your site’s content. First, you can have us do it on a case-by-case basis or with pre-paid amounts. You would simply email the updates you’d like to make to the site, and we will take care of it. Costs run from $40 a month to thousands a year, but we will define this before the project gets underway. Or, second, you can update the site yourself if it is built with a content management system (CMS) like WordPress or Adobe’s browser editor. Depending on which software is used to build the site will determine the level of expertise needed to handle this. Again, we will define the best approach for this before the project begins. How will I deliver content for my site? All content for your web site will be delivered to jettytrip media in an electronic format. We will guide you through how to do that. It is very easy and only requires an internet connection. Do I have to build a new site if I already have one?Not always, but most times it becomes a much quicker and more cost effective approach to build a new site.
